Found in lowland wetlands in dense vegetation (Ref. 57235). Occur on the bottom of shallow standing waters. Most common on grassy floodplains, often in water only a few centimeters deep (Ref. 12693). Possibly consists of multiple species (Ref. 57235). |

Known from the Mekong basin (Ref. 43281). Chaudhuria fusipinnis and C. caudata occur in syntopy at the type locality of C. fusipinnis: confluence of Nam Leuk and Nam Ngang (Ref. 36949). |
