| In coastal reef slopes rich with hydroids and anemones. Small juveniles secretive in coral thickets (Ref. 48636). Usually solitary and relatively uncommon. Feed on coral polyps and invertebrates (Ref. 9710). Oviparous (Ref. 205), monogamous (Ref. 52884). Form pairs during breeding (Ref. 205). |

Reported from Sharp Island, Hoi Ha Wan, and Tung Ping Chau (Ref. 94637). Also reported from Cape D'Aguilar and Yan Chau Tong (Ref. 129329). The species was observed on 2 to 10 occasions during 400 dive surveys on artificial reefs (Ref. 119494). Sold in live fish markets. Caught using traps and nets (Ref. 125552).
