Family:  Labridae (Wrasses), subfamily: Corinae
Max. size:  34 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine
Distribution:  Northwest Pacific: Korea, northern Japan to Taiwan and Hong Kong.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Found near shore, over pebble bottoms, rocky and coral reefs (Ref. 11230, 43239).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 12 July 2008 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
Country info:  Known from northern (Kuei-ho harbor, Wan li (Ref. 43538), Tung-hsiao and Hsin-chu) and southern (including Hsiao-liu-chiu) Taiwan, and from Peng-hu (Ref. 43515). Also Ref. 4868, 11104, 35918, 47843, 55073
