Family:  Cyprinidae (Minnows or carps), subfamily: Labeoninae
Max. size:  34.5 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: China.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 10-14; Anal soft rays: 7-8. Diagnosed from the species of Garra in the Yuanjiang drainage in Yunnan Province by the combination of the following characters: no barbels; 46-52 lateral line scales; 16 circumpeduncular scales; pharyngeal teeth in 3 rows, 2.4.5-5.4.2; snout rounded, no secondary rostrum, no longitudinal groove in front of nostrils; anus close to pelvic-fin base (Ref. 55924). Description: Dorsal fin ii,8-9; Anal fin ii,5; Pectoral fin i,15-16; ; Pelvic fin i,8 (Ref. 75600).

Known from Yangtze basin (Ref. 45621), Mekong River system in Yunnan (Re@f. 38630), Yuanjiang River (Ref. 81998), Pearl River (Ref. 90863, 89718). Reported from Leshan and Huidong of Sichuan Province and Fumin, Menghai and Hekou of Yunnan Province (Ref. 45621). Also Ref. 26561, 26735, 27732, 35840, 44416, 55924, 75600.
