Country info:  Known from Paraná River basin (Ref. 36801). Regarded as threatened in the state of Minas Gerais (Ref. 26603). Museum: Rio Araguari, salto de Nova Ponte, Nova Ponte, Estado de Minas Gerais, MZUSP 38535 (holotype of L. microphthalmus, 8.7 cm SL) (Ref. 27925).
