Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 1 - 20 m
Distribution:  Western Pacific: known only from subtropical eastern Australia, occurring in Queensland as far north as Lindeman Island, and in New South Wales as far south as Botany Bay.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 9-9; Dorsal soft rays (total): 11-11; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 10-10
Biology:  Inhabits rocky and coral reefs generally in shallow water (Ref. 9823). Feeds primarily on small benthic crustaceans.
