Distribution:  Western Atlantic: Deep water off Colombia (Ref. 26938).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 10-11; Dorsal soft rays (total): 22-23; Anal soft rays: 7-7. Body dark, oblong, and compressed. Mouth subterminal, chin with a short barbel perforated with a pore on front. Inside opercle jet black (Ref 51721).
