Max. size:  51 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; marine
Distribution:  Indo-West Pacific: Waltair Coast, Andhra Pradesh, northeastern India, Bengal Bay and northern Gulf of Thailand.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 3-3; Dorsal soft rays (total): 127-131; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 101-106; Vertebrae: 149-153. Color when preserved, head and body yellowish tan; all fin membranes hyaline; dusky dermal process on tip of each jaw clearly remained. Body extremely elongated, ribbon-like. Top of supraoccipital crest situated vertically above posterior margin of eye. Very slightly pigmented on upper part of anterior dorsal fin membranes. Posterior margin of preopercle clearly visible because clearly projected externally, but anterior margin of preopercle not clear. First anal fin spine base situated below 32nd-35th dorsal fin ray base (Ref. 44252).
