Family:  Tetraodontidae (Puffers), subfamily: Tetraodontinae
Max. size:  21 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; brackish; marine; depth range 1 - 30 m
Distribution:  Eastern Indian Ocean: southern Australia, from Western Australia to New South Wales.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  A shallow water species found in estuaries and coastal waters (Ref. 9563).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 08 June 2011 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  poisonous to eat
