Max. size:  15 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal
Distribution:  Indo-West Pacific: southern Australia.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Found on coastal bays on sandy flats, often in very large schools, entering fresh water in estuaries (Ref. 9002).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 10 June 2011 Ref. (120744)
Threat to humans:  harmless
