Environment:  demersal; freshwater
Distribution:  Oceania: freshwater streams of Ua Pou, Marquesan Islands.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 7-7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 11-11; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 11-12. Species has most elongate caudal peduncle of all Insularigobius examined, 14-17% of SL, usually 15-16%; predorsal midline usually fully scaled, usually 17-19; scales in horizontal series 49-51, usually 50-51; opercle may or may not be scaled; one to two spots present on caudal peduncle (Ref. 34009).
