Family:  Gobiidae (Gobies), subfamily: Gobionellinae
Max. size:  6.87 cm SL (male/unsexed); 6.29 cm SL (female)
Environment:  demersal
Distribution:  Asia: Malaysian province of Sabah on northeastern Borneo.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 7-7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 10-11; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 10-10. Cheek naked; opercle naked; central pectoral base usually naked; belly anteriorly naked; breast naked; predorsal midline naked or with few scales anterior to first dorsal fin; body depth of males 16-20% of SL, usually 17-19%; first dorsal fin with two parallel black bands extending basally and medially entire length of fin (Ref. 34009).
Biology:  Found in streams and rivers in fresh water near the coast (Ref. 34009).
