Max. size:  2.2 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  South America: known only from the type locality, rio Formoso floodplains, rio Araguaia basin, Brazil.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabit shallow temporary pool, about 80 cm deep with slightly acidic (pH 6.5) dark water (Ref. 26131).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 07 November 2018 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
