Max. size:  5.5 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater, non-migratory
Distribution:  South America: Upper Paraná River basin in Brazil.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Prefers pH=6.6, Hardness=6, temp.=24°C with rocks, plants and driftwood in the aquarium environment. An egg laying, peaceful community fish (Ref. 6398). Bottom spawner, 2 months incubation. Is difficult to maintain in aquarium (Ref. 27139).
