Environment:  demersal; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: Island od Halmahera in Maluku, Indonesia.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 7-7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-10; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 9-10. Pectoral fin with 14-15 rays. Both sexes with small widely spaced scales ventral to first dorsal fin, ctenoid in male, cycloid in female. Both sexes with lobes associated with urogenital papilla. In male, first dorsal fin with spines 3 and or 4 sometimes filamentous (Ref. 57053).
Biology:  Inhabits swift, clear high gradient streams with rocky and boulder strewn bottom (Ref. 57053).
