Distribution:  South America: Amazon and Paraná River basins and coastal drainages in Guyana and Suriname.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Nocturnal predator. Occurs in small groups. Feeds mainly on the fruits of Astrocaryum javary (Ref. 9084).
