Max. size:  8 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 0 - 6 m
Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean: Madagascar and Kenya to Sodwana Bay, South Africa.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 3-3; Dorsal soft rays (total): 28-30; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 15-17. Small specimens olive with rows of orange-red spots.
Biology:  Common in shallow waters, inside fringing reefs (Ref. 5471).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 13 August 2019 Ref. (130435)
