Environment:  pelagic-oceanic; marine
Distribution:  Northwest Pacific: known only from Suruga Bay, Japan.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 12-12; Anal soft rays: 17-17; Vertebrae: 32-32. First and second supra-abdominal photophores at the same level, with the third elevated. Darkly pigmented area of predorsal do not reach the median line of the body and is separated from the subdorsal dark area; the anterior part of the darkly pigmented predorsal is concave ventrally. Vomerine teeth present only on lateral edge (Ref. 37378).
