Distribution:  Southwestern Pacific: Tasman Sea.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 10-10; Dorsal soft rays (total): 15-15; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 7-7; Vertebrae: 27-27. This species is distinguished from its congeners by the following set of characters: D X,15; pectoral rays 18; lateral-line scales 41-42; and gill rakers 6+13 (Ref. 123579).
