Family:  Moridae (Morid cods)
Max. size:  30 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; marine; depth range 100 - 738 m
Distribution:  Eastern Atlantic: western Mediterranean, Madeira, Great Meteor Bank and south along the African coast to about 25°N.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 66-75. Ventral light organ between pectoral fin bases. Color is pinkish tan, oral cavity pale.
Biology:  Occurs on the continental slope (Ref. 4774).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 13 May 2013 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
