Family:  Pempheridae (Sweepers)
Max. size:  20 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 20 - 30 m
Distribution:  Southwest Pacific: endemic to southeastern Australia. New Zealand reports (Ref. 5755) of this species appear to be erroneous (Ref. 27767).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Usually found on offshore reefs, in large schools. Juveniles found on coastal reefs and near entrance of coastal estuaries with rocky reefs.
