Family:  Rajidae (Skates)
Max. size:  21 cm WD (male/unsexed); 22 cm WD (female)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 15 - 460 m
Distribution:  Northern Indian Ocean: Arabian Sea (India) to Bay of Bengal (Myanmar).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Oviparous (Ref. 50449). Eggs have horn-like projections on the shell (Ref. 205); approximately 6 cm long (Ref. 114953). Utilized for its meat (Ref.58048).
IUCN Red List Status: Near Threatened (NT); Date assessed: 05 May 2020 (A2d) Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
