Max. size:  51 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater, amphidromous
Distribution:  Asia: Goa to Kerala in India.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Found in rivers in plains and submontane regions (Ref. 41236). Common in rivers and wetlands. Piscivorous feeding on other small fishes (Ref. 44149).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 29 June 2010 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
