Distribution:  Africa: endemic to Mafia Islands, Tanzania (Ref. 83284).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Occurs in pools, swamps, ditches and small streams (Ref. 3788, 97277). Temporary pools and streams; distinctively more abundant in temporary pools; open savanna-like vegetation and gallery forest (Ref. 83284). Bottom spawner, 1-3 months incubation (Ref. 27139).
