Environment:  bathypelagic; marine; depth range 0 - 2000 m
Distribution:  Circumglobal in the Sub-tropical Convergence region of the Southern Hemisphere, mostly between 30°S and 50°S; one record from 59°S, 60°W.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 17-20; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 16-19
Biology:  Associated with the Antarctic Intermediate Water. Biology unknown (Ref. 5161). Minimum depth from Ref. 58018.
