Distribution:  Oceania: known only from streams in the vicinity of Safia near the eastern extremity of New Guinea on the north-eastern side of the Owen Stanley Range.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 8-9; Dorsal soft rays (total): 12-13; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 13-14
Biology:  Inhabits deep pools among vegetation and log debris.
