Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Oceania: northern Australia.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 8-9; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-12; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 9-12
Biology:  Found among vegetation or submerged roots in rivers, creeks and billabongs where water is calm (Ref. 44894).
