Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Oceania: central Australia.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 9-10; Dorsal soft rays (total): 10-14; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 9-12. Color: large adults bluish, and covered with a profusion of small red spots and lighter molting (Ref. 44894).
Biology:  Inhabits rocky pools of waterholes (Ref. 44894).
IUCN Red List Status: Near Threatened (NT); Date assessed: 13 February 2019 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
