Environment:  benthopelagic
Distribution:  South America: Amazon and Orinoco River basins, Essequibo River basin, and coastal streams of northern South America from Guyana to French Guiana.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Occurs in the upper reaches of rivers. Its biotope consists of rapidly flowing creeks where the substrate is rocks and stones (Ref. 12225).
