Family:  Cyprinidae (Minnows or carps), subfamily: Labeoninae
Max. size:  90 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater, potamodromous
Distribution:  Asia: Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and Nepal (Ref. 4832). Known from Maeklong (Ref. 26336), Salween, Chao Phraya and Mekong basins (Ref. 26336, 27732).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Adults live in clear active currents of large rivers (Ref. 4832). A migratory species (Ref. 37772). Found in the basin-wide mainstream of the lower Mekong (Ref. 36667).
