Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range - 0 m
Distribution:  Pacific Ocean: confined around oceanic islands, ranging from the Marshalls, Gilberts, and Tonga to the Marquesan and Easter islands (Ref. 1602).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 15-15; Anal soft rays: 17-18
Biology:  Occurs in schools at the surface of lagoon and seaward reefs (Ref. 9710).
