Max. size:  4.22 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  South America: Brazil, Venezuela and Colombia.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-9; Anal soft rays: 16-19; Vertebrae: 33-34. This species can be distinguished from its congeners by having an interrupted lateral line, besides a single perforated scale on caudal peduncle and a small dark spots on dorsal procurrent caudal-fin rays (Ref. 121599).
Biology:  This species is often found near or at rapids with swift water currents and rocky bottoms. It can also be found in clear water, black water and relatively muddy rivers (Ref. 121599).
