Family:  Apogonidae (Cardinalfishes), subfamily: Amioidinae
Max. size:  25 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 38 - 100 m
Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean: Gulf of Oman and the southern Arabian coast.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 9-9; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-9; Anal spines: 2-2; Anal soft rays: 7-7. Caudal fin emarginate with rounded lobes.
