Family:  Dasyatidae (Stingrays), subfamily: Dasyatinae
Max. size:  41.82 cm WD (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 10 - 20 m
Distribution:  Northwest Pacific: restricted to southern Japan.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Occurs in shallow coastal waters (Ref. 7445). Almost with certainty to occur deeper than 20 m (Ref. 114953). Ovoviviparous (Ref. 50449).
IUCN Red List Status: Vulnerable (VU); Date assessed: 27 August 2019 (A2d) Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
