Family:  Cichlidae (Cichlids), subfamily: Pseudocrenilabrinae
Max. size:  7.5 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater, potamodromous
Distribution:  Africa: Lake George and Kazinga Channel (Ref. 4983). Reported as introduced from the Aruwimi and Ituri (middle Congo River basin) in Democratic Republic of the Congo (Ref. 106290).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Common near papyrus shores (Ref. 4983). Apparently it never occurs offshore. Seems to be a detritus feeder since plant fragments and insect larvae are predominant elements of the gut (Ref. 558).
