Max. size:  74.1 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 14 - 22 m, non-migratory
Distribution:  Northwest Pacific: Taiwan and southern Japan.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Anal spines: 0-0; Vertebrae: 156-167. Dorsal fin rays 458-469; anal fin rays 267-295. Pectoral fins short. Pores of lateral line very small but well-spaced. Bluish-gray with numerous small bronze-yellow spots; ventral part of head and trunk as well as the tip of caudal more bright and with fewer or smaller spots; lips dark brown, nearly black; eye rimmed with black, especially the upper posterior part; pectoral and gill opening brownish yellow; dorsal and anal fins clear with yellow spots, especially basally, the distal end with an interrupted narrow blackish margin (Ref. 31552). Body diameter to about 15 mm (Ref. 48635).
