Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 8-8; Anal soft rays: 6-6. This species is distinguished by the following characters: snout with proboscis, weakly developed and unilobed; distinct transverse lobe with 8-12 small-sized unicuspid acanthoid tubercles; predorsal scales 8-9; lateral line scales 30-32; circumpeduncular scales 13-15; vent close to the anal-fin origin than pelvic-fin origin (Ref. 124205).
