Family:  Gobiidae (Gobies), subfamily: Gobiinae
Max. size:  1.6 cm SL (male/unsexed); 1.64 cm SL (female)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 9 - 27 m
Distribution:  Western Pacific: New Caledonia.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 7-7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-9; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 8-8. This species is distinguished by the following characters: usually without any cephalic pores, but always lacking the POP, IT, AOT, NA pores, and the PITO, AITO, and/or SOT pores may be present; dorsal/anal fin-ray formula of 9/8, some pectoral-fin rays are branched, the fifth pelvic-fin ray long, 50-74% of fourth pelvic-fin ray; without a dark spot at preural centrum nor an occipital spot; the first dorsal fin is not dark (Ref. 109221).
Biology:  Collected from fringing reefs, with silty coral rock and rubble bottom (Ref. 109221).
