Max. size:  22.4 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  pelagic-oceanic; marine
Distribution:  Eastern Atlantic: Morocco to Western Sahara. Western Atlantic: USA to Cuba, and off Brazil. Also known from the Indian and Pacific Oceans (Ref. 4740).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 23-26; Anal soft rays: 32-36. Barbel with a single terminal bulb. Without appendages on either the bulb or stem of the barbel (Ref. 37473).
