Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  North America: Tennessee River drainage from Paint Rock River downstream to Duck River system (in upper and lower Duck River system) in Tennessee, Alabama and Mississippi, USA; absent in Cypress and most of Shoal Creek systems.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits rocky pools and adjacent riffles of headwaters, creeks and small rivers (Ref. 5723, 10294).

Threat to humans:  harmless
