Family:  Percidae (Perches), subfamily: Etheostomatinae
Max. size:  6.8 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  North America: Stones, Collins (Cumberland River drainage) and Duck River (Tennessee River drainage) systems in central Tennessee, USA.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Occurs in shallow rocky pools of headwaters, creeks and small rivers (Ref. 5723); also found in streams and springs (Ref. 10294). Feeds on midge larvae (Ref. 10294).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 20 December 2011 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
