Family:  Leuciscidae (Minnows), subfamily: Pogonichthyinae
Max. size:  9.4 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater; depth range 0 - 1 m
Distribution:  North America: upper Tennessee River drainage (Holston, Clinch and Powell Rivers) in Tennessee and Virginia, USA.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits gravel runs and riffles of medium-sized rivers (Ref. 5723, 86798). Feeds on small snails, and immature midges, caddisflies, and mayflies (Ref. 10294).
