Distribution:  Western Central Atlantic: known only from the holotype taken off Venezuela.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 22-22; Dorsal soft rays (total): 15-15; Anal soft rays: 24-24. Pair of obvious bony ridges on rear half of interorbital region.
Biology:  Minimum depth from Ref. 58018.
IUCN Red List Status: Data deficient (DD); Date assessed: 18 October 2007 Ref. (130435)
