Family:  Sciaenidae (Drums or croakers)
Max. size:  43.9 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; marine; depth range 2 - 38 m
Distribution:  Eastern Central Pacific: Gulf of California to Peru.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Uncommon species found along sandy bays and lagoons; rarely in estuaries (Ref. 9118).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 08 October 2019 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
