Family:  Opisthoproctidae (Barreleyes or spookfishes)
Max. size:  6.3 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; marine
Distribution:  Pacific Ocean: known only from waters of the Phillipine Sea (Ref. 84273).
Diagnosis:  Eyes are telescopic and directed upwards; ventral fins at the beginning of the terminal one third of the body are located far in front of the vertical of the dorsal fin origin; the anal fin origin is under the end of the dorsal fin insertion; adipose fin is lack ing; myomeres number 48–50; P number 11–13; peritoneal pigmental spots between pectoral and ventral fins number three; there is also a spot under pectoral fin insertion; gill rakers number 23–25 (Ref. 84273).
