Family:  Sciaenidae (Drums or croakers)
Max. size:  90 cm TL (male/unsexed); max.weight: 30 kg
Environment:  demersal; brackish; marine; depth range 10 - 60 m
Distribution:  Eastern Central Pacific: Mexico to Panama. Probably reaching northern Colombia.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Adults inhabit coastal waters and estuaries with high salinities (Ref. 9118). Feed on fishes, shrimps and other crustaceans (Ref. 9118).

Threat to humans:  harmless
