Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Africa: Endemic to Lake Malawi.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Occurs around rocks and over sandy beaches and feeds mainly on zooplankton, but also takes phytoplankton (Ref. 267).
