Max. size:  10 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 10 - 25 m
Distribution:  Western Central Pacific: Indonesia.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 11-11; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-9; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 9-9. Recognized by the yellow-to orange back in all but very small juveniles. Males more orange and have a dark-red crown-like mark on the head (Ref. 48636).
Biology:  Occurs in small groups along reef edges with rubble patches in depths to about 25 m. Juveniles in small groups in shallower depths (Ref. 48636). Minimum depth from Ref. 58018.
