Environment:  demersal; freshwater
Distribution:  Africa: lower Congo River, usually in rapids (Ref. 42510), and in the lower reaches of the Middle Congo River, just upstream of Pool Malebo (Ref. 104438).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Feeds mainly on snails, which it swallows whole (Ref. 6868).
