Family:  Channichthyidae (Crocodile icefishes)
Max. size:  49 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; depth range 4 - 600 m
Distribution:  Southern Ocean: Circum-Antarctic on the continental shelf.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Found on the continental shelf. Synchronous spawner (Ref. 50743). Larval pelagic phase is long (Ref. 89434).
